The April HMGCC event, a continuation of the thinly-disguised HMGCC pub crawl, herein known as the Fish And Chips Crawl, will be at the previously visited and generally known Bayview Duck. The particulars are as follows:
MEET: Clear Lake Park on NASA One, past the Space Center and on your left if coming from I-45, or the 'Gulf Freeway' to us old time Houstonians. If you are coming from highway 146, the park will be on your right, and a traffic light in front of the turn in makes it easy. It's near the Lakewood Yatch Club and the boat launching area for Clear Lake. Mapquest should answer any questions you may have. TIME: Meet at 4 p.m. on Saturday, 19 April, and leave the park by 4:15 for the short drive to the Bayview Duck. DIRECTIONS: The Bayview Duck is on 146, over the big bridge and past Kemah about five or less miles. It is on the left, a two-story building with two gold lions at the entrance. there is a flashing light at the intersection where the Duck is located. MENU: The Duck is a very ecclectic place that has been gracious enough to host the HMGCC on several occasions over the last ten years. The menu is typically British pub fare, and the proprietor is English, although his wife is one of (most of) us. Prices are about the same as the Richmond Arms, and we have had very very few past complaints. The ale list is quite adequate also.
Come and join us on the continuing quest for fish and chips with a true British character. Drive your MG, be a true British character, and show the flag----safely. With daylight savings time we should be able to eat and be headed home well before dark, although there is generally live entertainment on a Saturday night for those who may wish to linger. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE
