Greg and Dottie Ulrich invite all Houston MGCC members to join them on Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Room 107 at the Stagecoach Inn for a Spanish wine and Tapas party. This is the eleventh time we have hosted these get togethers at the Texas MG Register’s Spring and Fall GOF’s. Greg and Dottie started these get togethers to encourage Houston MG Car Club members participation in the TMGR’s twice annual’s GOF’s.

This year we plan to kick off the party at about 5:30 pm or immediately after the TMGR membership meeting at 4:15. Following our gathering of the Houston faithful will be the TMGR Awards banquet at 7 pm.

For those of you who are not familiar with Tapas, relax. Leave your togas at home. Tapas are small appetizers that originated in Spain. They could be nuts, olives, cheeses, sardines or almost anything that could fit on a small plate which was placed over a drink when it was served. The small plates were originally placed on “top” of a drink to keep flies and insects out of your beverage when it was served. Eventually bars added a few nuts or olives to the plate and Tapas was born.

For those members who are arriving on Friday, it is customary for HMGCC folks to gather for dinner in the evening. We usually gather around the pool area at about 6:30 and walk or drive to a local restaurant.

The Spring GOF’s are always very special. This year it will be even more special as Gary Watson plans to do some filming of the MG show  for his new DVD, “Inside the Octagon-Part 2”. Who knows? If you bring your MG to the show, perhaps you and/or your car will become a part of this historical film. Gary also plans to show his outstanding film “Inside the Octagon- MG 1921-1945” and parts of his new “Inside the Octagon-Part 2” on Saturday afternoon at the Stagecoach Inn. Come join your fellow HMGCC members for all the fun and remember,

Safety Fast!
