In conjunction with drive your British Car Week, May 26 – June 3, 2012, the Hot Springs, Arkansas British car clubs held a national meet. There were cars from 33 different states in attendance. They had various driving events scheduled all week culminating in a car show and banquet dinner on Saturday, June 2. Their show consisted of a Concours competition with many beautiful and seldom seen marques and a popular vote competition with multiple classes for the various marques.
Representing the Houston MG Car Club Ed Greene took his supercharged 1947 MGTC and won first in the MGT class and I took my 1965 Cobra and won first in modified. There were several entries from the Texas MG Register including Phil Marcell who entered two of his cars in the Concours competition and Steven Ward brought his MGBV8. Steven won the slalom event staged by the Jaguar club. I also saw Mike McPhail who is a member of the Austin Healey Club in Austin, Texas and is a perennial entry at our fall car show.
