We would be remiss if we failed to take note of this Facebook posting by our Member, Brian Daly:
Well a week ago yesterday I took my black ’62 MG to the AACA National Winter Meet, in downtown Mobile at the waterfront. I was thinking the car was probably not going to place.
I got this on Thursday.
Brian lives in Mobile, Alabama and joined the HMGCC on August 1, 1971. His car is a 1962 MGA 1600 Mk II.
I asked Brian why he is still a HMGCC member, living in Alabama. He replied: “The car was restored 20 years ago by K&K Vintage Motor Cars off Bissonnet and the Southwest Freeway. My heart is in Texas wherever I go, and HMGCC sort of got my young self out of his shell and teaching me not to take myself so seriously. Nick Nichols and Joe Lopez were a big part of that. My original number, 142, was “gapped” especially when I was in the Navy and at sea a lot.”
Editor… HMGCC membership is FOR LIFE if you want it to be.
