COVID-19 Update

October 6, 2021 Due to the reduction in the number of cases and the increase in the number of people vaccinated and those now receiving booster shots, the club no longer requires members to where masks at club events.  The club still recommends members become fully vaccinated and use good judgement for the safety of fellow members and themselves.

August 11, 2021  Due to the most current information regarding the continuing COVID situation, the Board of Directors has decided to require the following restrictions in order to participate in club events.  For outside events (driving, picnics, car shows, etc) no masks will be required.  For all inside events (dining, meetings, movies, etc) masks will be required whether or not you are vaccinated (this is to protect you and your fellow members).  The exception will be while eating or drinking.  Please bring a mask to inside events or one will be supplied to you.  This will be a requirement to participate.  This policy is open to review as conditions change.  As always we high encourage all members to be vaccinated.

April 2, 2021  We are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has decided to return to normal face-to-face meetings and events effective May 1, 2021.  The Board encourages everyone to become fully vaccinated and continue to wear masks and practice social-distancing as is practical while attending club events.

We hope to see you again soon!

January 9, 2021 The Club's commitment to addressing COVID-19 concerns and restrictions are at the front of our minds.  It is important that all participants in Club events do so only after carefully considering their own personal health and safety in their decision to participate and are committed to a strict protocol and social distancing.  This includes:

  • Masks covering both the nose and mouth at all times, except when eating.
  • Maintaining a proper distance from other participants (besides your driving partner) - minimum of 6 feet - or even better a car length.
  • Use hand sanitizer and wash your hands frequently for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  • No direct contact with other participants

December 5, 2020  During today's membership meeting it was announced that the 2021 HMGCC Membership Dues are being suspended.  2020 has been a difficult year for everyone.  With no sanctioned club events and functions mostly on ZOOM, it has been the least active year since the Club's founding in 1971.   Your Board of Directors has decided that dues for 2021 will be $0.00.  If you are a paid member by December 31, 2020, your membership will automatically be extended through December 31, 2021. Thanks for your patience and dedication to the marque and the Houston MG Car Club.  We are optimistic that 2021 will see the beginning of a return to normal.

Also, due to the impact of COVID-19 the Board of Directors have made the decision to not present the annual club awards until we are able to meet face to face.  We all hope this will be soon.

June 22, 2020 Effective Monday, June 22nd, Harris county has raised the COVID-19 Threat Level to Red (Level 1), returning to a Stay Home - Stay Staff order until further notice.

May 25, 2020 The Board of Directors has met and determined that the club will continue to follow the recommendations, executive orders and laws as established by national, state and local governments.  As of this date, the Harris County Judge has extended the Stay Home - Stay Safe order until June 10, 2020.  At a minimum the club will continue to hold only virtual events until that time.
