Want to thank the two members who responded. After consultation, they were both correct. The timing chain had been put back on incorrectly after the rebuild. Very much, thanks again. The TD is no longer a doorstop and it is good to hear it run after 23 years.
Engine was rebuild @ 15 years ago and turned over from time to time. Now have new fuel pump, timed to 1 TDC, spark to #1, new carbs, oil pressure @ 35 on crank, & distributor set with rotor facing #1. However, zero compression on all 4 cylinders (dry & wet). Set valves to 19 +1 for cold engine. Looking for assistance or direction from someone with more knowledge than Ruel & Jane to get it to start. Right now this 1953 MGTD is just a doorstop.
