Honoring Two Beloved Members of Our HMGCC Family
The HMGCC community came together with heavy hearts yet full appreciation to celebrate the lives of two cherished members—Steve Session and Tom Sturm—whose spirit and friendship left an enduring mark on our club.
️ Celebrating the Life of Steve Session On July 21, a moving Celebration of Life was held in Katy to honor Steve Session, whose vibrant enthusiasm and joy were constants alongside his navigator, Jackie. They brought laughter, warmth, and camaraderie to every club event. The room overflowed with love as nearly 200 friends and family gathered to pay their respects, including fourteen HMGCC members, accompanied by British autos gracing the car park—a fitting tribute to Steve’s devotion to his red MGB. Mike Woodward spoke on behalf of our club, beautifully capturing how Steve fully embodied our “Marque of Friendship.” In true Steve fashion, several members arrived early for a spontaneous “Steve Session Pop-Up Breakfast,” reflecting the easy joy and connection he inspired.
Remembering Tom Sturm On July 23 in Brenham, Candy and I joined a heartfelt gathering of family, friends, and fellow “car guys” to honor Tom Sturm, former HMGCC President (2000), who recently passed after a long illness. Tom was the quintessential enthusiast—a gentleman whose love of cars and community was unmistakable. First-place awards, including three from HMGCC shows, stood as quiet witnesses to his passion and dedication. Like Steve, Tom lived the Marque of Friendship to its fullest.
A Gentle Reminder Enjoy the company of fellow club members in the moment. These bonds—made under bonnets and beside roadways—are treasures we carry forward.
Rest in peace, Steve and Tom. You will be missed but never forgotten.
