Protect Yourself and Make Your Transaction Experience Pleasant

You can outsmart the vast majority of would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules:

  • DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 95% of all scam attempts.
  • NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION OR MONEYGRAM or any other wire service. Anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.
  • FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON - banks will cash them and then hold YOU responsible when the fake is discovered weeks later.
  • PAYPAL PAYMENTS CAN BE REVERSED - just because you receive the money in your Paypal account does not mean you are protected. If the buyer is using a stolen credit card, the payment CAN be reversed.
  • THE AUTOSHRINE NETWORK (THIS WEBSITE) IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, verify vehicle condition, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer any "buyer protection" or "seller certification". CAVEAT EMPTOR!
  • NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION like bank account number, social security number, eBay or PayPal password, etc.
  • AVOID VEHICLE SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that only a scammer will "guarantee" your transaction.
  • MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WORKING PHONE NUMBER and home and work address, in case you need to get in touch after the transaction.

1978 MGB Roadster Parts

This is Rob Ficalora.  My son Drew recently purchased a 1978 MGB Roadster to do a V8 swap.  He will have quite a few parts available for sale to anyone who can use them on their car.  if someone needs something specific, they can always reach out to me at CustomV8MGB@gmail.com and I can see if he has the parts.

Right now, he has the following for sale:

1.  1800 CC Motor - 18G Motor (18GB-U-H 67852).  Price:  $650.  The seller advised that the motor had been rebuilt.  Compression is consistent with a fresh build high compression motor as follows:  Cylinder 1:  155; Cylinder 2: 150; Cylinder 3: 152;  Cylinder 4:  153.  Motor is being sold with the water pump, flywheel, and clutch.  None of the fasteners or studs were seized or broken.  Was running before we pulled it from the car.  Will sell the motor & cylinder head separately $500 for the motor; $200 for the cylinder head.

2.  Blue label Overdrive transmission.  I don't have personal experience with the trans, but the seller advised transmission is working properly and everything else he told me has proven true so I have no reason to doubt it.  Price:  $800.  Includes shifter and transmission mount.  Will also include driveshaft if needed/desired.

3.  MGB Starter.  Good, working starter. $50

4.  Radiator.  Excellent condition radiator. $75

5.  Weber downdraft carburetor & associated Cannon intake manifold:  $150

1974 MGB Engine & Gearbox

I am swapping a GM V6 into a 1974 BGT (don’t hate me) and would like to sell the original engine and 4-synchro transmission.  This is a one-owner car (now two) with 107,183 miles on the odometer.  Car had not been registered since 1988 and stored in a garage since that time. Engine rotates easily, though I do not know the condition of the engine or trans otherwise, just that “it ran when we put it in the garage”.  I am not able to measure any compression on any cylinder, which puzzles me. The valve train is working, so I assume the rings are shot. The engine is complete and appears to be in good condition other than the lack of compression.  Gearbox shifts easily, linkage is tight.  Engine number 18V6727-L37492.

I am in the process of pulling the engine so the photos show it with most accessories removed.  I have the original alternator, radiator and driveshaft, which I will not need.

If you are interested, please let me know what you are willing to pay.  Car and engine are in The Woodlands TX for inspection.

Early 1962 - 64 MGB Engine

This engine [sourced and fitted by Bill Jones in 1992 for Warner Banes] was in my MGA when I purchased it in 2008 -  it ran great for a couple of years while I  rebuilt the 1622 engine that came with the MGA – I  then removed the B engine and refitted the 1622 engine!

In order to make space in my shop – I need to sell this engine ID # 18G-U-H-25667 - it has good [140 – 155 psi] compression on all cylinders, and 55psi oil pressure at idle. It is complete with starter , clutch, water pump, but no generator, or distributor. Price - $295.00

This engine was fitted with a downdraft Weber carburetter  and a Pearce alloy inlet manifold – Separate price for both -$150

Engine is SOLD - Carburetter and Manifold still available
