Do you love the smell of hot rubber, burnt brakes, and the roar of revving engines? If so, how about a nice drive out to Angleton to support HMGCC member Pete Sandy who is racing his bug eye Sprite on the weekend of Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24?
Adding to the excitement for all of you MG enthusiasts is that there will be several MGs racing in the event, too!
Pete is a member of the Corinthian Vintage Auto Racing club, which is Texas based not-for-profit organization of about 320 members. https://www.corinthianvintagerace.com/ Corinthian Vintage Auto Racing (CVAR) will be holding the event at MSR Houston, a 17-turn 2.38 mile road course race track located near Angleton, Texas.
Pete’s car is in the northwest side of the corral, and he’s well known in the group, so you can ask just about anyone where you might find Pete. Look for a white Sprite with a wide blue strip, number 04, and Pete’s Austin Vintage Racing trailer. Pete is competing in Group 2 and will run four 15-minute races on both days. The morning races are likely to be early (8:00 am to 9:00 am) with a second one closer to noon, and then two more follow in the afternoon.
