IMPORTANT: ALL CLUB EVENTS ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. ONCE WE ARE AWARE THAT IT IS SAFE TO ASSEMBLE WE WILL UPDATE EVERYONE AS TO THE STATUS OF FUTURE CLUB EVENTS.
We've recently planned trips to explore ships and trains and now it's time for planes! We've got the handle on the automobile part driving our vintage cars!
In keeping with our latest transportation themed events, Rich Colwell is hosting a trip to the 1940 Air Terminal Museum at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 25th. We’ll meet in front of the museum where a reserved parking area is being provided for our members.
Our guided visit to the Museum affords a front row vantage point to Hobby Airport's diverse airport operations. Between airline traffic, business aviation and frequent fixed wing and rotary wing general aviation traffic, the Museum has an air show every day. The entire ground floor of the historic Terminal is occupied by the Museum. For those of you who may have been to the museum in the past, the campus has expanded to include the recently restored 1928 Carter Field Airmail Hangar.
An invitation is being extended to the Triumph and Jaguar Clubs as well and we are hoping to have a good mix of cars to display!
Location: 8325 Travelair Street, Houston, Texas 77061, on the west side of Hobby Airport, just east of Telephone Road.
Regular admission: $5 for adults. The museum also offers free admission for Museum Members, active duty members of the military, law enforcement and fire fighters.
Lunch: After our tour is finished, an informal gathering is planned for pizza at Barry’s Pizza, a Houston classic for the more than 34 years.
