On July 31, we will travel west and have a unique and yummy lunch stop in the country, The Kenney Store. If you have never been to Kenney, Tx you will not be disappointed. There are other fun attractions there to check out too.
From the Kenney lunch stop, Brenham is a short trip and the Blue Bell Little Creamery looms large in the afternoon. A tour can be scheduled or just go directly to the Blue Bell tasting room. I mean, who doesn't like ice cream.
In historic downtown Brenham, art galleries and other shops may be a place to cool off before checking in to the hotel.

A classic car event/Cruise -In hosted by the Stray Katz Car Club conveniently offers us "Rock-Star" parking. Stray Katz recommends you be at the courthouse square downtown about 5pm for the Cruise-In. 
The Cool Tunes on the streets nearby begins at 7 pm. Settled into our lawn chairs, we’ll really enjoy Escape Houston Journey Tribute band. We’ve heard them before and you will be amazed whether its nostalgia or hearing them for the first time. Beverage and food vendors will serve us well.
WHAT TO BRING - Lawn chairs, water, sunscreen, hat, cool clothing, small coolers, and of course your classic car. If it gets too hot, there are trees to sit under and many places to get out of the heat. Oh, don't forget your overnight bag, medications etc.

- Brenham is only about 65 miles from Houston (via 290) so you could go home after the show…but we don’t recommend that. Overnight events are the best, and stay for breakfast the next morning. See above for Hotel recommendations.
- After a local breakfast on Sunday morning, we can caravan back or go your own way.
